A day at work: Anthropology students get blogging!

Partly due to the severe inefficiency of the online Blackboard system that my “Introduction to Anthropology” classes have been using to post their assignments, I finally created a blog where students will be posting about the class and their ethnographic research projects.

Some of the projects are really interesting. They include homeless shelters, ethnic neighborhoods, a comparison of fitness clubs in high and low-income areas, a study of women in male-dominated physical-labor occupations, and more.

I hope that my students will benefit from sharing their work with each other as well as having public links to their writing that they can show to prospective employers or colleges.

Also, I found out that I’ll be teaching Intro to Anthropology again this summer at QCC!
